A Clarion Call for Nationalism Among My Fellow Filipino Youth.

Dear Fellow Filipino Youth,

It seems to me that the soul o ang kaluluwa of the Filipino nationalism on many of us as well as love of our nation has lost. Ito'y aking marubdob na ikinalulungkot at pinanghihinayangan.

Allow me to say so why.

Many of us are now more listening to the songs, watching to the movies, television series, dancing the dances, buying food, drinks, shoes, clothes and other products/things that come from foreign nations, especially in South Korea, United States etc. rather than our own songs, movies and television series, dances, own foods, drinks, shoes, clothes and other products/things we have in our own country that really made by most of our countrymen.

While I am recognizing your right to do so, what I am saying that we must lessen buying products/things from foreign nations as well as patronizing them. Hindi na kasi tama yan.

I deplore the fact that in this modern era, we have become foreigners in our own land. Naging dayuhan na tayo sa ating sariling bayan. WE HAVE LOST NATIONALISM, LOVE OF OUR OWN COUNTRY! Is this the kind of being a Filipino we must show to the world?!!

MY ANSWER IS NO! But our actuations shows otherwise!

We have subjected ourselves, yes ourselves to colonial mentality.

MAS MINAHAL AT MAS NAHUMALING PA TAYO SA MGA IBANG MGA BANSA KAYSA SA ATING SARILING BANSA!

We have forgotten how our Mother Philippines is in deep tears and pain for what we are doing to her. And the things from the foreign nations that we are fully much more patronizes are a virtual colonialization that we have allowed to enter into our respective minds and hearts.

Our heroes fought the 1896 Revolution for the independence of our nation from Spain and they won for us even if it was temporary and much more during the for us in the Philippine-American War even if they lost for us;

Our war veterans fought World War II in defense of our country's sovereignty and they won for us;

Our people on 1986 revolted peacefully for our freedom from tyranny and they won for us;

Our Twelve Senators in the building of the Old Senate in Manila on September 16, 1991 voted to reject a new treaty with a foreign superpower that would supposedly extend the presence of its military forces in the country and they won for us;

Our past leaders like the late Former Senators Claro M. Recto, Lorenzo M. TaΓ±ada, Jose Diokno, Jovito Salonga, Raul Roco, Miriam Defensor-Santiago and other illuminous figures who served wisely and responsibly in the Senate have been persuading us to be lovers of our nation and;

Even the late President Ferdinand Marcos during Martial Law setting aside the atrocities happened during his 21 year rule also exhorted us more to be patriotic so did some of our past Presidents like Sir Joseph Estrada.

In all of our their lives they applied NATIONALISM especially in serving our nation much more in what they did that I cited.

In their calls for us to be patriotic, we ignored them instead of listening to them.

Today as one of your fellow Filipino Youth, I am calling on all of us to show fully NATIONALISM, LOVE OF COUNTRY AND PATRIOTISM in our own country and to fully apply them in our respective lives and activities.

We must BUY AND PATRONIZE MUCH MORE OUR OWN COUNTRY'S OTHER PRODUCTS/THINGS!

We must watch more of OUR OWN MOVIES, TELEVISION SERIES!

We must listen MORE TO OUR OWN SONGS and dance our OWN DANCES!

We must BUY MORE OWN FOODS, DRINKS, CLOTHES AND SHOES!

And let us be with our President Rodrigo Duterte as he is re-awakening our NATIONALISM among us, fellow Filipino Youth and on our other countrymen.

Ika nga mismo ni yumaong Senadora Defensor-Santiago: "Show some national pride!"

ITAAS NATIN ANG ATING DIWANG PAGKAMAKABAYAN.

LET US BE PRO-FILIPINO AND PRO-PHILIPPINES.

If we do that, our Mother Philippines will end her tears and her pain will be fully eased out.
